Eucalyptus Grove > The Board of Directors

The Eucalyptus Grove is managed by a 5-member board. The current board consists of:

Colin Smith	Joe Mora	Craig Nicholson	Cathy Leyva
Member-at-Large	Vice President	President	Secretary
Colin joined the Board in May 2019 and was reelected in January 2024. His term will expire in January 2026.	Joe joined the Board in 2012 and was reelected in 2025. His term will expire in January 2027.	Craig was elected to the Board in 2024. His term will expire in January 2026.	Cathy was elected to the Board in 2025. Her term will expire in January 2027.

About the Board

• Only current owners are eligible to serve on The Board.
• A board meeting is typically held once per month.

Board Elections

Board Members are elected for a term of two years at the annual owner meeting. Once elected, The Board then assigns the specific Director roles of: President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, or Member-at-Large to each serving Board Member.

Historically there has been insufficient interest in Board participation to warrant a balloted election. See our page discussing our Election Procedure for years when we do not have more nominees than vacancies.

In 2022 The Grove had its first balloted election where there were more candidates on the ballot than there were vacancies on the Board. Truly an historic moment for our community.

2023

This year, the Board had two director positions expire & come up for re-election. These were the positions held by Vice President Christine Hall & Member-at-Large Joe Mora.

Initially we had four candidates for these two vacancies (listed alphabetically):

Craig Nicholson

Joe Mora

Karen Mullin

Prior to balloting, Karen Mullin decided to drop from the election, leaving us with three candidates.

We were able to count 107 ballots at our March 9th regularly scheduled Board Meeting. The results of this election were as follows:

Joe Mora - 77

Christine Hall - 73

Craig Nicholson - 54

Joe Mora and Christine Hall will serve until 2025.

2022

This year, the Board had three director positions expire & come up for re-election. These were the positions held by President Colin Smith, Vice President Craig Nicholson, and Treasurer Howard Lange.

Howard Lange decided to resign from The Board after many years of service.

For this Election, we had four candidates for these 3 vacancies (listed alphabetically):

Craig Nicholson

Owen Roth

Tamara Simmons

Colin Smith

We were able to count 103 ballots at our April 14th 2022 Board Meeting. The results of this election were as follows:

Craig Nicholson - 55

Owen Roth - 70

Tamara Simmons - 72

Colin Smith - 90

Hence, our 3 new Board Members were Owen Roth, Tamara Simmons, and Colin Smith. They serve until 2024.
